Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser witnesses the opening ceremony of the Doha International Conference on Disability and Development

Under the Patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, founder of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), the inauguration of the two-day International Conference on Disability and Development (DICDD), held under the theme of “Leaving No One Behind” is set to take place tomorrow Saturday, December 7 at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).


The guests of honor during the conference will include Her Excellency Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Mr. Xavier Torres Ecuador’s Government Advisor in Disability, as well as other dignitaries and VIPs.


The conference will gather more than 1000 participants from all over the world who will engage into plenary and panel discussion with more than 40 high-profile guest speakers.


DICDD will culminate with the announcement of the ‘Doha Declaration’, which, in the context of disability, will represent a milestone in the history of human rights and sustainable development. The Doha Declaration will be a core reference point for policy development in these areas on a global scale.
